Three Mobile Musts

It’s impossible to stress enough the importance of mobile when it comes to business success. A business not incorporating a mobile strategy might as well close its doors now. Mobile advertising has become so huge that business owners wanting to expand can’t afford to ignore it. But even with all the evidence, many business owners are still hesitant to take the leap towards mobile. One major reason for this is that they feel they don’t know enough about mobile technology and incapable of learning. In actuality, taking your company mobile is easier and more affordable than many realize. If business owners do nothing else to mobilize their business they should at least do these three steps.

Mobile website
The first mobile must for your business is launching a mobile website. Each year, a greater percentage of online searches are done on mobile devices. It’s expected that 2013 will be the year when more online searches will be done on mobile devices than on PCs. If your business doesn’t have a website designed for mobile screens, then half of your potential customers won’t be finding your website when looking for a product or service you offer. Fortunately, launching a mobile website is fast and much easier than you might think.

Mobile payments
If your business uses large, outdated cash registers, or employs delivery people who can only accept cash, then it’s time to look into mobile payment solutions. A mobile credit card reader can be plugged in to a smartphone or tablet to transform these handheld devices into mobile payment terminals. By allowing customers to pay for products or services via Paypal, you give them the freedom to purchase from you wherever they are simply by pulling out their smartphone. Giving your customers more ways to pay for products and services is always a plus.

Mobile advertising
While the majority of people would report being annoyed by a constant bombardment of advertisements, 70% of smartphone users report that mobile ads are like “personal invitations.” Mobile advertising is far more effective than other advertising strategies when it comes to sending timely, relevant, and targeted offers that will actually be acted on. As a bonus, no other form of advertising is as inexpensive as mobile when you look at the cost per contacted customer.
So if you’re not sure about taking your company mobile, at least take these three easy steps and you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
