Location-based advertising: the future of mobile marketing?

It’s no secret that mobile marketing is the rage in the marketing world today. But despite all the hype surrounding mobile marketing, it is still underutilized by marketers. One possible explanation for this is that even though marketers know that mobile advertising is the future, they’re not sure about how to incorporate it into their marketing campaigns.

2013: The “Year of Mobile”
The year 2013 is poised to be the year mobile marketing explodes. Currently, the percentage of a marketing budget that goes towards mobile marketing is far behind considering the amount of time people spend with their mobile devices. Not only is the stage set for a mobile marketing takeover but companies like Amazon, Paypal, and Google are focusing on payment mechanisms that will increase mobile commerce.

Location-based Advertising
The real advantage of location-based advertising is that by using mobile location data, marketers can see actual consumer behavior so they can continually adapt their marketing strategies to see a better consumer response. If mobile marketing experts are correct, then 2013 will hold a lot in store for the future of advertising.
